The Italian Serie A is now over and Inter Milan coach, Antonio Conte has been talking tough ahead of their Europa League clash against Getafe.
The coach, who led the Nerazzurri to the second spot of the league, three points adrift of the eventual champions, Juventus, said the European club second-tier competition is an important tournament for the club.
He added that what’s most important will be to have no regrets after the match coming up tonight against the La Liga side.
Inter will now focus on the European action scheduled to end this month ahead of the next season domestic league, which begins September 19. Knowing what is at stake for the club, the former Juve coach has urged his lads to give theirs all against Getafe.
Not guaranteeing that the team will cross the last 16 hurdles against the Spanish surprise package, Conte said the team doesn’t know where their best will take them.
Speaking on the job pressure, the former Chelsea boss said it is off the right kind, which he said they had in the run-in of the championship.
Although Juventus won the Scudetto, he said what was important for his team was maintaining an important position on the log.
He further stated that the pressure of recovering from the fourth position on the table paid off with the last three games that showed improvements. He is, therefore, hoping that there will be further improvement tonight.
Conte, who also stated that he expects continuity, said he wants Inter to build on the good end to the season in Italy. He added that the team is, therefore, ready to do so and won’t mind getting dirty against their Spanish opponents.
Speaking on finishing second on the Serie A table, Conte said it was a fair finish to end the league with 82 points, adding that there was progress in all aspects of the team.
Ahead of tonight clash, Conte expects a tough game against a tough opponent.
