Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has put pen to paper as he signs a three-year contract extension which will keep him in the club till 2023.
Towards the end of 2019, Muller was linked with a move away from the Bavarian club, but the German international has finally committed himself for another three years.
Muller has been a long-serving player to Bayern for almost 20 years, and there is every indication that he could end his playing career with the club, making him a one-club player as Francesco Totti once did with Italian side Roma, and Paolo Maldini with AC Milan.
Muller revealed in an exclusive interview after putting pen to paper saying, “my relationship with the club is more than just an employer to me. It is my passion for this great club that made me decided to continue, and we both agree with a good feeling.
“I am very sure that once we start playing again, our success journey will continue. It is my main aim to sign a new deal with Bayern, and I’m glad the club has a similar thought as well”.
Thomas Muller joins one of Germany’s most decorated player with trophies to his arsenal [one World Cup, One Champions league, One Club World Cup, Five DFB Pokal trophies, and Eight German Bundesliga titles ].
Bayern Munich chairman Karl Heinz Rummenigge appreciated Muller and his agent [Ludwig Kogl], a former Bayern player for their trust and the way they were being handled negotiations.
Former and German international and Bayern shot-stopper who is likely to become the future CEO of Bayern Munich – Oliver Khan also praised Muller and his attitude towards the club and expressed his delight at the continued partnership with Muller.
With the look of things at the club, Bayern should be applauded for tying down their players after manager Hans Flick signed a new contract last week. Muller has perfectly fit in under the new boss scoring goals and making tremendous assists.
