The information available indicates that Lille striker, Victor Osimhen will be completing his move to Napoli soon.
According to multiple sources, the Nigerian striker will sign for the Pertonopei over the next 48 hours.
Football Italia reported that the problem surrounding the delay of the deal was always with his agent. Osimhen had sacked his agent, who is now threatening to sue him for illegal dismissal.
According to Italian sources, Osimhen had wanted to sign days ago, but the issue that prompted him to turn down Napoli last week was with his representative negotiating bonus for himself without thinking of the best deal for the player. The deal is expected to be over the line with the arrival of a new intermediary.
It was gathered that after the sack of the agent, final negotiation is ongoing, and the remaining details are expected to be sorted out today in Sardinia to secure the deal, worth in the region of €81m.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the deal will be €50m cash plus full-back Adam Ounas, which is expected to cover the difference.
RAI Sport and CalcioNapoli24 reported that Osimhen later joined the negotiations on Lille President Gerard Lopez’s yacht off Sardinia. If everything o well, Osihment could have his medical with Napoli today and sign the dotted line.
The negotiation is believed to have reached an advanced stage after Osihmen acquired a new agent’s service, to William D’Avila.
D’Avila is the one in charge of negotiations for Younes Belhanda, Emmanuel Dennis, Samuel Kalu, and Aston Villa winger Trezeguet.
Meanwhile, Osimhen’s former agent is reportedly set to take him to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over alleged unfair dismissal.
This is not expected to cause any delay in the negotiation as it is a separate case. The move is reported to be in the region of €81m.
