Moses set for Inter stay as Asamoah returns from injury

Inter Milan are reportedly planning to activate the buy option in Victor Moses’ contract and sign him permanently at the end of the ongoing season.

Moses, who linked up with Antonio Conte in Italy, has had a successful period with the manager while at Chelsea in the season he won the Premier League. The Nigerian joined the Nerazzurri during the winter transfer period on a six-month loan with an option to sign him permanently for €10m.

Corriere Dello Sport reports that Chelsea is willing to let go of the right wing-back for a lower fee than the amount first agreed. This is to ensure that Inter jumps at the opportunity with Moses still tied to the Blues until June 2021.

After his move to Italy, he has played seven games for Inter with an assist against city rivals, AC Milan, for his efforts so far.

According to the local media, Inter is preparing a three-year contract for the 29-year-old wing-back if they decided to sign him on a permanent deal.

Meanwhile, his teammate, Kwadwo Asamoah, has returned from the treatment room to the pitch.

The Ghanian, according to reports, responded well to the therapy during his time on the sidelines. He is therefore available for Conte in the next couple of games.

According to Tuttosport, Asamoah had a successful rehabilitation programme after recovering from a knee injury.

Asamoah, before being out injured, had come in to play for the Nerazzurri from the substitute bench while only appearing as an unused substitute in some games as well.

According to the newspaper, he has been following a personal training routine during the quarantine period as Italy continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic after avoiding surgery.

The Ghanaian has been struggling with knee problems since November and had suffered several setbacks as well, which forced him to be out of action for the major part of the current campaign.

This forced Conte to sign former Manchester United skipper, Ashley Young, and Moses, who have been filling Asamoah’s position at wing-back.

His return to action will create a good headache for the coach and increased competition for a place in the squad.
