Michaël Cuisance settling down at Olympique de Marseille

It seems on-loan Bayern Munich midfielder, Michaël Cuisance is settling down at Olympique de Marseille after joining the Ligue 1 side on a one-year loan deal.

Cuisance, who failed medical at Leeds United before joining Marseille has so far played three games for the French team, making two starts so far. He came in on 73rd minute against Bordeaux for his debut.

Cuisance, who a native of Strasbourg joined the Bavarian club from fellow Bundesliga side, Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2019.

However, his playing time was cut short at the club by Joshua Kimmich, Thiago Alcantara and Leon Goretzka, who are ahead of him. Since he was below the pecking order at the Allianz Arena, Bayern decided to loan him out to get some first tea, experience as he struggled to hold down a regular place in Hansi Flick’s starting XI.

Now on a one year deal at a club in his country, he seemed to be having a nice time under Andre Villas-Boas as it took him just twelve days to make his debut.

Although the Phocaeans have suffered three straight losses in the UEFA Champions League, Cusiance has been involved in two wins in the French Ligue one games for the club.

Speaking to Ligue 1.com, the french midfielder said he didn’t hesitate when Marseille expressed interest in him.

Cuisance, who is the 2017/18 Mönchengladbach player of the year, has been used in the number ten role by Villas-Boas, playing in the hole behind striker Darío Benedetto and creative forward Florian Thauvin.

Although he is yet to register his name on the scoring sheet for the club, Cuisance has so far won the highest number of duels in the two Ligue 1 games he has played.

Bayern might decide to make his deal a permanent one, having added Marc Roca and Tiago Dantas to an already stacked midfield.

It is hoped that Cuisance will finally stake a claim to the Les Blue ahead of the Euro 2020.

He further stated that he is ready to give his all to the club not caring if he is there on loan, adding that he will be happy to join them permanently if they activate his buy out clause.
