New Juventus signing, Weston McKennie has described it as a great honour to be the first United State of America player at the club.
Juventus initially signed the talented 22-year-old midfielder from Schalke 04 on an initial loan deal, with a view of making it permanent.
The Bundesliga club had to let go off one of their best players due to the financial mess they are currently in. Schalk 04 is owing up to 200m Euros in debt. It is believed that proceeds from the loan deal and the imminent sale of the American will solve part of the problem.
McKennie is now part of Andre Pirlo’s squad, with the hope of bringing in more creativity and competition to the Bianconerri midfield.

Juventus weren’t impressive en route to winning their 9th straight Serie A title. The ouster from the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League and they lost the Italian FA Cup to Napoli. This led to the sack of Maurizio Sarri.
Pirlo is coming into the job with no competitive experience as a coach. Juve had announced him as their Under 23 coach few weeks before elevating him to the post on a two-year deal.
Her now has a talented lad like the 22-year-old central midfielder to bank on. McKennie already played 19 games for the USA national team.
Speaking further at the press conference, McKennie said joining the Serie A giant is a dream come true.
After signing with the Old Lady, he said he intends to create more history at a club with a great history. Expressing his excitement over the move, McKennie said the Old Lady also supported his commitment to Black Lives Matter.
He further stated that it didn’t take much of a convincing on his part before deciding to join the club and he wants to help Pirlo in winning possession back immediately after losing the ball.
While noting that regaining possession is his strong point which the manager appreciates, McKennie said that makes them be on the same wavelength.
Being the first-ever American at the Bianconeri, he is now hoping to inspire young players from his homeland to follow his part.
