Mali 5 – 0 Kenya: Kenyans express fury over Harambee Stars humiliation

Kenyans have reacted angrily after the national football team was given a 5 – 0 by Mali in a 2022 World Cup qualification match played Thursday in Marakech, Morocco.

The result has left millions of Kenyans questioning the capacity of coach Engin Firat to lead the Stars, whose hopes of qualifying next year’s World Cup in Qatar dashed. Turk Firat was appointed just over two weeks ago, the Football Kenya Federation unveiling him on two-month contract.
The fury has also been directed at the FKF, with calls for it’s disbandment hitting fever pitch.
Kenya now have just two points from three matches and languish at the bottom of their group which also features East African neighbours Uganda and Rwanda.
The return leg match is scheduled for Sunday in Nairobi.
