There have been speculations that Juventus and Barcelona have reached an agreement to exchange Miralem Pjanic and €10m cash for Arthur Melo.
It was gathered that the Brazilian, who had been told that he wouldn’t be getting enough playing time remains unconvinced about leaving the Camp Nou despite a reported bumper salary.
This was later confirmed by Juve Director of sport, Fabio Paratici while speaking in an interview with Sky Sport Italia on Monday night.
He noted that the deal is not about June 30, but it is about both parties reaching an agreement and both players are convinced.
But, according to Sky Sports UK, Juventus have accepted the €80m valuation of Arthur and offered the 23-year-old a higher salary than what he is currently being paid at Barcelona. It is reportedly up to €5m per year.
With Juve putting €70m value on Pjanic, Barcelona feels that they ought to get a larger amount than €10m to bridge the gap.
With Arthur, remaining adamant of leaving the Camp Nou, the negotiations may break down. The Brazilian had from the very beginning said he is not ready to leave Barcelona.
The 24-year-old joined the Blaugrana from Gremio for €31m in the summer of 2018, and he has played 26 games so far this season, with four goals and four assists to his record as well.
Meanwhile, former Juventus striker, Mario Mandzukic could be heading back to Serie A.The Croatian striker who is wanted by Fenerbahce and Galatasaray wants to leave Al-Duhail after just moving to the club in January as a free agent. He had spent four-and-a-half years at Juventus before his departure.
Although he is contracted with the club till June 2021, reports have it that the 34-year-old is ready to walk away from the Qatari club.
Calciomercato reports that he is likely to return to the Serie A since Milan wanted him before opting for the Qatari club, but Turkey is a more promising destination.
