Kenya Premier League outfit Kakamega Homeboyz have everything it takes to win the Kenya Premier League title this season, assistant captain Ali Bhai has said.
Bhai believes the team has the right balance and gusto to marshal serious drive towards the ultimate, especially after a splendid start to the season.
He revealed how it has been heartbreaking for the Kakamega-based side after three close calls in quick succession.
“We are now focused more than ever. We have learnt many lessons from past experiences and now we want to give our best to bring smiles on the faces of our fans,” said Bhai.
“It’s a long and tough journey that is still at the initial stage but we will take each match at a time.”
“The league has always remained competitive, but I’m happy with the way we have responded with an unbeaten run in the last eight matches,” noted Bhai.
He pointed out competition among the players, coupled with tough fighting spirit as some of the attributes that keep them going.
The former Western Stima midfielder singled out Gor Mahia, KCB and Tusker as some of the clubs that could give Homeboyz a run for their money.
Homeboyz have 18 points from the eight matches played so far and are one of the two unbeaten sides thus far, alongside Gor Mahia.
