Stade Rennes FC’s star right-back Hamari Traoré has extended his stay with the club after signing a three-year deal.
raoré linked up with the Brittany club from Stade de Reims in 2017. He is now going to be the club player at least till 2023.
Coach Julien Stéphan now has a committed player in the Malian international, who has played 91 Ligue 1 Uber Eats matches for the club over the past three seasons. Traoré has also featured in 119 games in Rouge et Noir.
Speaking on the development, the club’s president Nicolas Holveck, said the extension shows their ambitions, noting that the player had plenty offers, but preferred to stay.
‘IThe 28-year-old also said the extension is a continuation of his adventure with the club.
Speaking with the club’s official website, Traoré revealed that he weighed up his options, as everyone was impatient. After thinking it over long and hard, Traoré chose to stay in Rennes.
He is therefore hoping to continue growing with the club, adding that there are good things to do. He also said that It’s up to him and other players to keep working in helping the club evolve.
In another development, Brazilian defender, Fernando Marçal has left Olympique Lyonnais and secured a move to the English Premier League club, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Marçal was part of the Lyon side that reached the last four of the Champions League for the first time in their history before being knocked out by eventual winners, Bayern Munich.
The 31-year-old moved to the English Premier League after spending three years with the Ligue 1 club. He joined Wolves a two-year contract in a deal believed to be worth 2 million Euros.
During his stint with the Ligue 1 side, Marcal played 75 matches in all competitions after joining the club from Benfica in 2017.
