Kenya’s record League champions Gor Mahia will represent the country in next season’s CAF Confederations Cup after beating archrivals AFC Leopards in the FKF Cup final match played at Nyayo Stadium.

K’Ogalo goalkeeper Gad Matthews was the hero of the day, saving two penalties as they cruised 4-1 on penalties after a barren draw in regulation time.

Ingwe skipper Isaac Kipyegon was the first victim of Matthews’ heroics, missing from the spot the shoot-out’s first attempt. Said Tsuma had his effort from 12 yards to leave Leopards two goals behind their rivals.

Clifton Miheso converted thereafter and although Washington Munene was on target for Ingwe to give a glimmer of hope, Samwel Onyango hit the target for K’Ogalo and end the tie.

Gor pocketed KSh2 million, while Leopards earned KSh1 million.

Earlier, Bidco United beat Equity bank in the bronze play-off match at the same venue to grab a cash prize of KSh750,000. Equity finished in fourth place to receive KSh500,000.
