Fatma Samoura: FIFA SG in Kenya for two-day visit

FIFA Secretary-General Fatma Samoura is in Kenya and will grace the finals of the inaugural CAF Women Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers at MISC Kasarani , this Thursday, to witness the crowning of the region’s first-ever representative to the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Samoura arrived in Kenya on Wednesday for a two-day visit, accompanied by FIFA’s Chief Women’s Football Officer Sarai Bareman and they are expected to hold talks with the Football Kenya Federation officials.

This is Samoura’s first visit to Kenya since her appointment to the position in 2016. Born in

Senegal, Samoura is the first woman and the first African to hold the powerful position of FIFA Secretary General.
