From many other news, it looks increasingly likely the Ronaldo will be forced to stay at United next season, with the club thus far, that the 37-year-old is not for sale.
Ronaldo has been linked with several clubs this summer – Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid – but he doesn’t come cheap and United have yet to receive a bid for the veteran striker.
Erik ten Hag has maintained all summer that he is ready and looking forward working with Ronaldo, however, he could be just saving face in the media. The manager must get rid of players that are having a negative influence on the dressing room.
That said, Ronaldo is unlikely to start against Brighton in United’s first match of the new Premier League season on Sunday. He only managed 45 minutes of action – on top of one week of training – throughout pre-season.
His only appearance came in the 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano; however, he left the stadium shortly after being substituted at half-time. However, Ronaldo wasn’t the only first-team player to leave early.
Do you think United would be better with or without Ronaldo next season?
