Carlos Fernández has secured a move to Real Sociedad, while Sevilla has announced the signing of Papu Gomez from Atalanta.
An agreement has been reached by Real Sociedad and Sevilla F.C. to transfer 24-year-old attacker Carlos Fernandez from Sevilla to Real Sociedad. He will wear the txuri-urdin shirt until June 2027.
Carlos Fernández arrives in San Sebastián as a replacement for the sale of Brazilian striker Willian José, who was transferred to English club side, Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season, with a purchase option for Wolves.
After the sale of Carlos Fernandez, Sevilla announced the signature of Argentine forward Papu Gomez from Atalanta on Tuesday.
The announcement was made in a club statement revealed by the La Liga club. Papu Gomez is joining Sevilla on a three-year contract after spending six seasons with Atalanta in the Italian Seria A.
Gomez has European experience having played in both the Europa League and the Champions League with Atalanta.
Gomez began his career with Arsenal de Sarandi in 2005 and was with the Argentina club for four seasons. He also played for San Lorenzo de Almagro for a season before moving to Italy with Catania in 2010, where he spent three years.
Before his move to Italy, Gomez spent time with Metalist Kharkiv in Ukraine, from where he moved to Atalanta in 2014.
Sevilla is fourth on the La Liga table with 36 points from 19 games played. They are a point behind Barcelona in 3rd, four points behind second-placed Real Madrid, and eleven points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid.
Led by Julen Lopetegui, Sevilla has had to depend on Youssef En-Nesyri and Lucas Ocampos for the goals.
Sevilla beat Cadiz 3-0 in their last game played in the La Liga at the weekend. They face Valencia next in the Copa Del Rey on Wednesday.
Rayo Vallecano will host Barcelona, while Almeria and Osasuna will also play. On Thursday, Navalcanero FC will host Granada, with Athletic Bilbao also visiting Alcoyano.
Meanwhile, in the Copa Del Rey matches played on Tuesday evening, Levante beat Valladolid 4-2 to move into the next round of the cup.
Villarreal also got past Girona by a lone goal through Yeremi Pino’s 19th-minute strike in the first half.
