Cadiz has been on a 4-game unbeaten streak since losing to Real Betis, and they will be hoping to continue the run as the go to the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan this weekend.
A win could take Sevilla to the third spot on the La Liga table, ahead of both Barcelona and Villarreal.
Cadiz continues to enjoy their return to the top flight, having defeated Barcelona and Real Madrid. They suffered a festive dip, but it seems they are back in track.
Having picked up six points in the last four league games, Alvaro Cervera’s side seems to be flying once again. Cadiz had played out a 2-2 with an in-form Levante in their last outing, with goals coming from Alberto Perea, and Cala. Most of their good results have been against teams below them in the table.
Sevilla is also going into this fixture on a good run, sniffing out a 2-1 win at Alaves. Cadiz is therefore going to the home ground of one of La Liga top sides.
It won’t be surprising to see them play defensive football by parking the bus, while they hit on the counter. This could be another lucky day for them as the tactics seemed to have worked for them in many games.
No doubt, Alvaro Negredo will be under huge pressure to deliver. The former Sevilla striker has four goals and three assists for the club, which is more than any of his teammates.
With their last defeat being against Real Madrid in the first week of December, Sevilla is purely the favourite, going into the clash.
They already have positive results that season, making the club to reward manager Julen Lopetegui with a new contract. The former Spain coach will now be with the club until 2024.
Sevilla currently occupies the fifth spot on La Liga behind Villarreal. They can also bank on in-form Moroccan striker, Youssef En-Nesyri, whose impressive form has seen him score four goals in three league games.
Meanwhile, in yesterday’s La Liga game, Atletico Madrid came from behind to defeat Eibar 2-1, which Luis Suarez scoring the two goals.
