After a season with the Rossoneri, Tiemoue Bakayoko may return to be a permanent signing for the San Siro club.
The Frenchman, who made his name as the surprise package in the Champions League, Monaco, including Kylian Mbappe, said that the Rossoneri is in his heart.
His performance sees him helped Monaco win the Ligue 1 title in the 2016–17 season. Bakayoko, who got named in the 2016–17 UEFA Champions League squad of the season, attracted Chelsea, and the Blues paid £40 million for his service. The fee made him the club’s second most expensive signing at the time, after Fernando Torres.
The midfielder has been coy about a possible return to San Siro as well. This is probably not to chase away other suitors.
Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that the Diavolo have entered talks with Chelsea to bring the French midfielder back.
Speaking with Ant Tuttomercatoweb in an exclusive interview the former Monaco man didn’t hide his love for the club, saying everyone knows that the Diavolo is in his heart after excellent memories with the outfit.
Acknowledging that Chelsea could likely decide his future, Bakayoko said all that is needed is to wait and see his next destination.
The Italian media reported that Milan is in talks with Chelsea to bring Bakayoko back to San Siro this summer.
Sky Sport Italia reports that the Rossoneri have entered negotiations to sign the French midfielder from the Blues. According to reports, the deal could be another €3m loan deal and then pay €35m to buy him after the 2021 season.
Bakayako had spent 2018-19 on loan with the Diavolo but returned to Monaco during 2019-20 on loan and played 20 Ligue 1 games before the league was suspended in March.
During his stint at San Siro, he played 42 games across all competitions in one season.
