Everton coach Carlo Ancelotti is hoping that his former club AC Milan wins the Scudetto this term.
Milan has been impressive since the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Diavolo had garnered more points than all teams from January last year. They played a 1-1 draw against Udinese on Wednesday night.
Ancelotti, who is a former Milan coach and the player said he wants Stefano Pioli’s men to finish on top in 2020-21, but admitted that5 it will be tough.
Speaking with Sky Sport Italia., he said the table toppers, Inter are going at a high pace.
Having been in charge of Parma, Juventus, Milan, and Napoli in Serie A, Ancelotti closely monitors his previous players who have started their coaching careers.
One of them is GennaroGattuso, who currently manages Napoli after replacing him at the club last season.
He further revealed that he still maintains a good relationship with all of them. While noting that Andrea Pirlo and Gatusso have been taking care fo themselves well in their roles as they continue to learn the ropes, he said he is more closer to Benevento’s manager, FillipoInzaghi.
Meanwhile, Milan midfielder, Sandro Tonali will be back in action for the match against Hellas Verona on Sunday.
Pioli had removed the former Brescia midfielder and brought in SoualihoMeite at half-time in the 1-1 draw with Udinese on Wednesday. The manager said it was a precaution after the match.
Speaking with DAZN, the former Fiorentina coach said the young lad felt a slight problem in the flexor.
This means that the substitution reduced the damage the 20-year-old would have suffered if not replaced. He is therefore expected, according to reports, to be available for the match at the Bentegodi this weekend.
Since his move to the San Siro club, Tonali has played 30 competitive games. He is however yet to score his first goal for the Diavolo.
