While football fans wait for the Spanish top-flight, the La Liga, to resume on the 11th of June, the Spanish second division, La Liga 2, will be the first professional football match to be played in the country just a day earlier albeit it is a bizarre case.

The abandoned tie between Rayo Vallecano and Albacete at the Campo de futbol de Vallecas in Madrid is the match that has the honours as the match which has had the first half played will be completed on the 10th of June.

The match was abandoned at half time due to offensive chanting against Albacete’s Roman Zozulya. Roman Zozulya moved to Albacete from Rayo Vallecano, who had cancelled his loan deal from Real Betis in 2017.

According to reports, the termination of his loan deal at Rayo Vallecano was due to fans outbursts who claimed that the city wasn’t for nazi.

With Rayo Vallecano at home, the home fans chanted that Roman Zozulya was a “Nazi” as the match went on on the 15th of December 2019. Meanwhile, the player has denied any links with the nazi

Subsequently, Rayo Vallecano was fined 18,000 euros with a partial closure of the stadium, which is expected to last for two matches.

Rayo Vallecano are 11th on the log while they have 40 points from 30 matches played, and Albacete, on the other hand, are 18th on the log with 35 points.

La Liga will resume on the 11th of June with the Seville Derby between Real Betis and Sevilla while the rest of the round 28 matches will be played across the weekend.

FC Barcelona are currently on top of the La Liga table while Real Madrid follows closely with 2 points behind.
